Marshall Rane Jones

Born in Shallowater, Texas, a small town only locals ever know, Marshall Rane Jones' formative years were spent on a flat land dotted by the occasional oil well. "A land where you can watch your dog run away for a week," people would say. But he spent most of his life in Boulder, Colorado, where he received his degree in media studies from the University of Colorado. It was there that he took his love for storytelling and learned how to tell a story responsibly and collaboratively in today's rapidly evolving media landscape.

As he's only just beginning his career, Marshall has worked closely with Hex Publishers as an editor, copyeditor, and administrative associate. Beyond Hex, Marshall has also found experience with One O One Games as a cultural sensitivity consultant, Unioverse as a marketing intern, and Man of Action as an intern. In between, he's helped edit and copy edit some published novels and screenplays, one even making the New York Times Bestsellers list.

"Don't use your full name, it's a pain for publishers and only makes it that much harder on yourself," his father told him when asked about what pen name Marshall should use. Marshall Rane Jones elected to ignore this advice. He decided to instead keep it as a tribute to his father, who also publishes under his full name.
